I think everyone heard of the debate between picture taking and post photoshop manipulation. There is a lot of arguing and the point is manipulation produce fake products. Of course I use photoshop manipulation and I always believe photoshop manipulation would not be able to change a bad picture to a good one. I just can not find the right word to support it until today I saw an article passed to me from the camera club.
If you have ever thought about this question, you would like to read the article. Plus it's very funny.
![]() I have been thinking there should be something besides 'entertaining'. I just find out that it's trying to tell that 'relationship' should be a super natural thing between people - no matter friends or lovers. If you try to persuade yourself to like or love someone, it's not going to work. So just relax in a relationship. It doesn't matter if with your friend or your lover. Let it be what it should be and just relax. I am not good at talking about this and it's just some of the random thoughts
![]() I like the name of the 'Ice Age'. I actually found the name from another weblog on the internet. I spent sometime recently, starting to orgnize the photo exhibition. It's actually much more difficult than I had imagined, mostly because I had left the school and contacting people by email is very low efficient. I am still waiting for the information to figure out where I am going to hang the pictures. But the prints look very beautiful and I really like them. Chi and I are going to give a talk and hopefully Ed would come too. Once I have settled the time and place, I will let you guys know.
I have one picture getting into the winners of The 4th Photoworkshop Digital Imaging Competition. It's bascially the first 100 of more than 6,000 entries selected from the world. There is no category limitations. So it's pretty amazing that mine can be selected. I am very happy with it.
Everything is very traditional - as amazing as usual! The most I like about the clinic is about its timing. It's right at the end of the winter. Everyone is freshed with the top professional seminars, pictures and films. As usual, I met lots of wonderful people and friends - Mr. Stan Waterman, Howard & Michele Hall, Mark and Woody - my friend and buddy who is going to be a detector! It's just wonderful. Check out some pictures and here is a link to last year Boston Sea Rovers Clinics. ![]()
It's already March - even though it's bitterly cold outside. I stayed up the whole night in the lab, collecting STM images. I was lucky - I finally got the atomic resolution images. I am happy with it - not only because of the good images but also because this has been my goal for the past four month, which I worked so hard since I started working at Harvard.
Even though it's hard, I still liked the STM experiment. I believe the reason is that it's so much like photography - well I think it's kind of photography - you bring a camera and start a field trip. You will never know what you would get. But if you work hard, amazing would happen. I can take a small break now. But I still have lots of data to orgnize, have my thesis to finish and submit and also the Sea Rover clinic in the weekend. |
