Hong Rui and I were classmates in high school (it's a wonder we can end up in Somerville together from a place 6000 miles away). We recently had an idea to raise fund and set up a scholarship in the name of our class. It's exactly 10 years since we left the school.
I am recently busy with my experiment, a paper, research proposal and the photo exhibition. I am not afraid of heavy load of work but a very uncertain future. I feel like sometime even I push but not everything would go as expected. But anyway, I am trying and trying very hard. I was trying to find a high school graduation picture but could not. I have a picture from the primary school, which was 20 years old. Can you imagine how much would happen to a people in 20 years? That's just unbelivable. ![]()
I had a chat with Susan of Yale Bulletin today and just drove back from Yale. Yale Bulletin is going to list the exhibition on the next issue and put a short story on the May 19th issue. I appreciate they would like to do this.
Min and I tried the DVD and my photo slide show in Davies Auditorim. They are just wonderful. The DVD is from Howard & Michell Hall. They actually showed it in this year's Boston Sea Rover's Clinic. But I am really glad with my slide show, which looks really neat and professional. Xia also helped me to hang the posters around the campus. I had a wonderful dinner at Min's home with his family. I think I am doing a great job - but it would not happen without help from the friends at Yale. You guys rock!
Hello my friends! Today is the 2nd aniversary of the website. I have made lots of progress during the past two years. Thanks for your great help during the past time and hope you can support me in the future! From the very beginning of building the website, I have dreamed to put up a photo exhibition. After two years hard work, this is going to be reality. Thanks for your great help and support! I gave the title "Close-ups In Nature" to the exhibition, hopefully to share the experience and fun of nature photography. Most importantly we can appreciate what a wonderful nature we have and realize how much more we should do to protect it. The exhibition would be on May 19 - 21 in Masson Lab Lobby during the normal working hours. There will be a presentation in Davies Auditorium on 2pm May 20th. You can find more information on the webpage at www.atweiwei.net/EX/. I hope you can come and enjoy the show. Again, thanks for your help and support!
I have my Nitrox certified today from PG Dive. I know it's not a big deal, especially PADI now does not require diving with the Nitrox class. The interesting part is the learning. I basically read the book, finished the excersise, went through the questions in the class with the instructor and finally took the test. The process gave me the feeling of being a student, which is cool.
![]() This is the first time I decide to drive out and take some pictures since I moved to Cambridge. I spot a place in the Google map called Middlesex Fells Reservation and decided to go. It's hard to believe that there is such a quite and big park right near the Boston. There is a lot of birds in the woods. Since it's just the beginning of the spring, the new leaves are just coming out on the tree. It's wonderful to have a breath of the wild.
![]() Xia came to Harvard to visit a professor for her future post-doc work. It did not go as well as we had expected. Well there's always unexpected turns in one's life but we have to be bound to the last. And it's her birthday today - Happy Birthday! Hong Rui and I went to take a look at the new car in the weekend. I can hardly afford a new Toyota Matrix - which I really like. There are some many things I need to do this year. Well I believe I will do whatever I have to do and make progress. Spring finally arrived. Now the most beautiful time of the year is on stage...
![]() One of my photos taken in last Christmas won the third place in Spring Break Photo Contest hold by Yale's Graduate & Professional School. Unfortunately I can not join the reception at Yale. There's food and wine and seems very interesting.
![]() I was quite sick last week. In the weekend I went back to Yale. I am glad I had a good time with the friends. Nothing can help you more during the hard time than good friends. I feel much better now and is recharged to work hard again. No one is surprised to see snow in April - this is New England. I rode Lin's bicycle today to Central Square to drop the poster. I felt good even though the weather was harsh plus I have not riden a bike for more than 5 years. The orgnizing of the exhibition goes very well. I pretty much have everything done. I am working on some details and hope the exhibition would go well. |
