Mala Wharf Pier was destroyed in 1991 by hurricane Iniki. Its remains soon become paradise of underwater creatures. But the most attractive animal here is the sea turtle. Since the site is very close to the shore, it becomes very popular for snorkeling. It’s very easy to spot the breathing turtles on the surface. The concrete structures provide the turtles with the ideal resting and cleaning station. Most of the turtles are used to the presence of divers around them and are very happy with their pictures taken!
